[Tom is standing on a street in Adstringendum -- or, well, perhaps the better word would be floating. He looks relatively unbothered by the massive amounts of water and various sea-life surrounding him, but if one looks carefully, they will notice that Tom doesn't have gills. Or fins. Or anything resembling the fish and creatures that are investigating him with a careful distance.

That would be because Tom Riddle is unaffected -- but, luckily for Tom, he is skilled with various types of magic, and a Bubble Head Charm is woefully simple to complete. Add that with a quick water-proofing spell to his clothes and Tom is free to explore without much hindrance.

When he does speak, his voice sounds slightly muffled, but it can be made out rather well, and the PCD floats in the water in front of him.]

I appear to have been skipped over in the Animus' need to make all of us look utterly ridiculous -- though I have seen a great many sea creatures that I don't think were here before, along with the giant squid that usually inhabits the lake.

[Tom inclines his head towards the PCD, faintly amused.]

I do hope everyone knows how to swim.

Of course.

[Tom smiles.]

You should join me. I can teach you how to use it.

I can barely keep myself from lighting my room on fire - you give my magic far too much credit.

One can only progress if they learn how to control their talents.

[Granted, Tom mastered his skills by the age of four, but Morgana doesn't need to know that.]

[identity profile] medicatus.livejournal.com 2011-08-09 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
....Yes so much is true. Do you really think I can learn how to do that?

[she slips away or well - swims away rather quickly. The facr that she chose a purple slip instead of her long heavy dresses makes it easier for her to move. But it's harder to carry herself with grace in this state so upon her arrival her bow would be a tiny less impressive than usual]

Hello, Tom.

Lady Morgana.

[Tom bows himself -- and, for some unique reason, he manages it with every ounce of grace that he would had he not been suspended in the water.]

I trust you have been affected by the event, as you aren't drowning.

In a less obvious manner than some - thankfully. [She grins. Really Morgana would die if she half turned into a fish, it's disgraceful]

What is that spell? [she's curiously floats about trying to understand what it does and how]

It's called a Bubble Head Charm. It allows me to breathe underwater -- and a quick waterproofing charm for my clothes and the rest of me. Far more effective than gills, I think.

[Tom slides his hands into his pockets, totally unbothered by the tropical sea surroundings.]

[She takes a careful seat on one of the rocks, hair floating around her]

A Bubble Head Charm - how effective. Magic has a solution for anything, it would seem.

There is a spell for everything -- well, mostly everything. We're told to not rely on magic exclusively. There could always be a day where you don't have it available to you.

[Tom raises his wand through the water to point it at Morgana.]

Impervious.

[Her clothes are now water-proof, just as Tom's are, and he lowers his arm with a tin smile.]

Though I've yet to come to that point myself.

Is that how all sorcerers channel their magic? [she points at his wand] they do not use them in Camelot.

Some wizards have the ability to cast spells without their wands, but they must be extraordinarily talented.

[Tom pauses before shrugging his shoulders.]

I can manage it with concentration.

As far as I know even Merlin does not have one - [she bites her lip and smiles] Merlin and magic. I am still getting used to the thought.

He is quite the legend, in my time.

[Tom slides his hands back into his pockets, wand and all.]

Something to aspire to be.

Merlin, a legend? He'd think it weird.

[He chuckles to himself.]

Most people would, but I assure you, everyone in our world knows the name of Merlin. He has written several of my favorite books.

Merlin - writing books? How extraordinary.

Did I ever written something?

A text or two. You are most well know in history books.

[Tom looks thoughtful.]

A powerful witch who changed the fate of the magic world.

Lady Morgana is one of the first publicly recorded witches in history. You are as much a part of our history books as you are Muggle legend.

Muggle - un-magical individuals, yes?

It's something of an archaic term.

[Tom smiles lightly.]
